RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the Labor Day deaths of two motorcyclists in separate accidents near Lake Tahoe within minutes of each other.

Jennifer Leonard of South Lake Tahoe, Calif., died in a crash on U.S. Highway 50 in Glenbrook about 3:15 p.m. The 50-year-old woman was a passenger on a Harley driven by 53-year-old Charles Gilbert of South Lake Tahoe.

Troopers say he failed to negotiate a bend in the road and collided with a warning sign near Logan Creek Drive. He was flown to a Reno hospital where his condition has not been disclosed.

In the other accident just before 3:30 p.m., troopers say 66-year-old Patrick Zielke of Fallon was killed after he drove into the path of a motor home on the Mount Rose Highway.
