SPARKS, NV The Sparks Police Department is experiencing problems getting phone calls from Verizon customers. According to a press release, Verizon has some sort of technical difficulty with its 911 emergency phone service.
Verizon users have some 911 coverage, some calls may go through to dispatch centers, but some won’t have voice contact with the dispatcher. Calls to the regular Sparks Dispatch number are going through without difficulty. That number is 353-2231.
Verizon is aware of the problem and is working to correct it. The problem appears to be affecting the Truckee Meadows, as Reno Dispatch and Washoe County Dispatch are reporting the same issue.
