Sparks police are now identifying the man hit and killed while trying to cross McCarran Boulevard, just west of Probasco Way early Wednesday morning, as 26 year old Randall Woods, a Sparks man.

The accident is still being investigated and the Sparks Police Department would like to have contact with anyone who saw the accident or saw Mr. Woods prior to the accident. Please contact Sgt. Walsh at 353-2241 ext 503 if you have an information.

SPARKS, NV - Sparks police are investigating a crash that killed a man just after midnight Wednesday morning on McCarran Boulevard, just west of Probasco Way.

Police tell KOLO 8 News Now that the victim, a 26-year-old man, flew 75 feet after being hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Police do not suspect the driver to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Sparks police believe the pedestrian was partially in the roadway when he was struck. That portion of the road is very dark and restricted for pedestrian traffic.

An autopsy on the pedestrian will be done to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
