Vandalism to RTC RIDE Buses Injures Passengers; Reward Offered

RENO, NV - A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or people involved in throwing large objects at RTC RIDE buses, causing the passengers on board to become injured.

According to an official with Secret Witness, objects have recently been thrown at RTC RIDE buses, resulting in the windows breaking and those on board getting injured.

One person was transported to a hospital, one person had a large rock land in a lap after it shattered a window, and a driver was injured by broken glass after the driver's side window was shattered, according to the official.

Not only does this present a danger to the passengers and drivers; it costs an average of $2,000 to replace the windows, according to the official.

The official says this has happened on four routes throughout the Reno community.

Reno police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person or people.
