RENO, Nev. (AP) - A member of the Vagos motorcycle gang who police blamed for starting the fight that led to the killing of a rival Hells Angel in a Nevada casino shootout has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Gary Rudnick is the former head of the Vagos Los Angeles chapter who went by the nickname "Jabbers." He entered the guilty plea in Washoe District Court on Friday in the Sept. 23 shooting death of Jeffery Pettigrew, president of the Hells Angels San Jose chapter.
Police say Rudnick repeatedly taunted Pettigrew until Pettigrew threw a punch and the casino floor turned into a shooting gallery.
KTVN-TV reports Rudnick's sentencing has been put off until after the first-degree murder trial scheduled in October for another Vagos member accused of firing the fatal shots.
