RENO, NV - Crews continue to work on the widening of McCarran Boulevard in south east Reno.
Granite construction crews are working to widen the beltway from four to six lanes between South Virginia Street and Mira Loma Driv.e
This week, most work will be on the outside lanes in preparation of paving.
Next week, crews will be paving the new outside lanes between Longley and Mira Loma.
McCarran Blvd. will be open for traffic in all directions this week, except for on Saturday, September 8. Rio Poco Road will be closed at McCarran in the morning, and Mira Loma will be closed at McCarran in the afternoon.
According to the latest RTC Streets & Highways Project Summary Report, this project won't be completed this month as originally hoped. Instead, the estimate for completion is now early October.
This project is an estimated $16 million.
