Reward Offered for UNR Theft, Burglary Suspect

University of Nevada, Reno Police officials are asking for your help locating the suspect in a number of on-campus thefts and burglaries.

Robert Wayne Cherkee Rodriguez is suspected in several thefts and burglaries on the UNR campus.

RENO, Nev. -- University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) Police officials are offering a reward for your help locating the suspect in a number of on-campus thefts and burglaries.

Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $750 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of Robert Wayne Cherkee Rodriguez wanted in connection with a series of burglaries in the campus area. He is described as a white male who is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Rodriguez has been spotted in several areas on campus, including near the IGT Knowledge Center, the Applied Research Facility and Fleischman Agriculture.

Investigators say he usually targets backpacks containing laptops and various other valuable items. He has been known to get into offices through unlocked windows, and he is known to hang out in downtown Reno casinos and hotels.

If you see Rodriguez or have any more information, do not engage him or try to detain him. Instead, please call the UNR Police at (775) 334-COPS (2677), (775) 745-6195 or dial 911.
