Sparks Toddler Dies from Injuries, Live-In Boyfriend Charged With Murder

RENO, NV - The two-year-old child injured, victim of an apparent fall has died from his injuries. The boyfriend of the toddler's mother has been charged with murder.

Trevor Swanson, 27, live-in boyfriend of the toddler's mother, Tkeyah Jordan , was charged on one count of murder Tuesday after the toddler died from his injuries that police say did not match the defendants' story.

Swanson is now being held without bail.

Around 8 p.m. on Wednesday Reno Police responded to an apartment, on the 1400 block of Evelyn Way, to a report of a two-year-old child in medical distress from an apparent fall.

Officers were told the child was in full cardiac arrest, according to paramedics already on the scene.

Officers spoke with the mother and live-in boyfriend, and afterward questioned the validity of their statements in relation to the injuries to the unresponsive child.

After further investigation RPD originally arrested both defendants last week for child abuse causing substantial bodily harm and booked them into the Washoe County Jail.

No word yet on whether the mother will receive additional charges.
