Man Arrested in St. Vincent's Stabbings

RENO, NV - Three men are being treated for minor wounds after a multiple stabbing at St. Vincent's dining room Tuesday afternoon.

Police say several men got into a fight at the dining room on Valley Road near the men's homeless shelter, with one pulling a knife and slashing two others. Police say he then left and stabbed another man nearby. That man is being treated at Renown; the other two didn't want to go to a hospital.

41-year-old Richard Schmitz was arrested a short time later, with a bloody knife in his possession. He is charged with battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, and battery, for allegedly throwing milk in a dining room employee's face.
