RENO, NV - The Nevada Highway Patrol says someone may have tried to shoot at a trooper Wednesday night.

They say around 10:30 p.m. the trooper was making a traffic stop on Hwy. 395 near the Moana Lane exit.

While talking to a driver, he heard several gunshots just to the east of him. The trooper ducked behind his patrol car, and told the driver to leave.

The trooper wasn't hurt.

Investigators ended up finding what they call "possible evidence" of a shooting in an open field next to the freeway.

If you have any information about this, please call Secret Witness at 322-4900.
