Deputies Arrest 1 for String of Virginia City Burglaries; More Thieves Sought

RENO, NV - A domestic disturbance call and a Secret Witness tip led authorities to a Sun Valley man allegedly responsible for a string of home burglaries in Virginia City.

Daniel Garcia, 47, was arrested Wednesday by the Storey County Sheriff's Office with the help of Washoe County deputies after a report of a domestic disturbance at Garcia's residence, located on the 200 block of Quartz Lane in Sun Valley.

Garcia was subsequently arrested for an outstanding warrant and being in possession of drug paraphernalia.

While at the home, deputies saw evidence stemming from the Virginia City burglary cases. After serving a search warrant, 10 guns (in include rifles and handguns), ammunition, knives, jewelry and other miscellaneous property were confiscated.

Garcia was add-booked for Possession of Stolen Property and 10 counts of Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Garcia's bail has been set at $101,140.

Detectives believe there are multiple suspects and are currently looking for a vehicle used during the commission of a crime described as a possible 1998 to 2003 white Ford F-250 or F-350, 4-door, with running lights above the cab.

Detectives are still requesting the public assistance and asking anyone with information to contact the Washoe County Sheriff's Office or Storey County Sheriff's Office. Anyone with information in any of these cases and wishes to remain anonymous is urged to call Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
