RENO, Nev. -- The Reno Philharmonic is celebrating Americana this St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Sunday is the world premiere of an American music celebration. It is part of the "Classix Five" performances. This production includes an original composition in addition to "The Star-Spangled Banner," but it is not a musical event alone. Visual artist Anne Patterson teamed up with composer Michael Gandolfi, musical director Laura Jackson, the orchestra, and the chorus to produce a multimedia performance that celebrates "the power of music in American life."

You can see and hear the performance Sunday, March 17th at 4 p.m. and Tuesday, March 19th at 7:30 p.m.. All performances are inside the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, 100 S. Virginia St., Reno.
