The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says the boy has been identified as 15-year-old Dylan Ridolfi, from El Dorado Hills, California. His family tells KOLO 8 News Now he was vacationing in Incline Village for the weekend.

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say a teenage boy is dead as the result of a sledding accident in southern Washoe County.

The sheriff's office says it received a call about the accident Sunday afternoon.

Sgt. Chris Banks tells the Reno Gazette-Journal the youth was sledding down a hill and hit a tree.

Banks says efforts were made at the scene to try and revive the boy.

The paper reports that the boy's name and age were not immediately known.
