RENO, NV - Interstate 80 eastbound is back open at North Virginia Street in Reno after a tanker truck carrying diesel crashed early Wednesday morning. Traffic was diverted for about three-and-a-half hours.
The truck driver hit a guard rail and rolled over, splitting the gas tank. Deisel spilled on the interstate, and HAZMAT crews are finished cleaning it up.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, but investigators say speed was likely a factor. The driver has been cited for not maintaining a lane.
