Suspicious Repair Offers Happening in Parking Lots

RENO, NV -- Several men may be offering cheap repairs in parking lots, if you turn over your vehicle keys. A local auto repair business said the men are falsely telling people they are employees of the business.

KT Cassidy of Sparks said she was recently approached by several men who offered to repair her vehicle in a shopping center parking lot.

"Just give me the keys so you can go shopping and your car will be done in twenty minutes," she said she was told.

Cassidy said she said no, but returned to find suspicious scratches in one of her vehicle's windows.

Cassidy's daughter, Ivy Greene, said she was approached with a similar offer at the same shopping center.

"I just got right in my car, locked the doors and then just took off right after them to get the plate," she said.

The suspicious incident has now been turned over to the police.

"They're approaching women and I'm obviously an older slender woman," Cassidy said.

The auto repair business said it has been getting calls of similar incidents from throughout Reno and Sparks.

The men have been seen arriving in several vehicles, one of which may be a silver pickup.
