A suspicious briefcase downtown was located and found to only contain household electronics Friday night.
Reno Police arrived at a business in the 100 Block of E. 2nd St. after someone reported a mysterious briefcase in the emergency exit doorway. The surrounding businesses were evacuated as officers with the Consolidated Bomb Squad arrived to the scene.
An examination of the briefcase found wiring and unknown electronics inside. It was then blown up in a controlled explosion for precautionary measures.
Once the household supplies were found, police deemed the case not explosive.
