RENO, NV - Super Bowl Sunday is the second biggest eating day of the year after Thanksgiving. So local restaurants started getting ready early.
"It's our busiest day of the year," Reno Wing Stop owner Melissa Siracua said. "But we're prepared, we started preparing about five days ago."
This is their fourth Super Bowl and they've got the moves down pat.
"Everything's smooth, we always anticipate the biggest rush right before the game," Siracusa said. "Everybody here has been with us about five or six years so everybody's got it down, anything that happens, we can avoid any kind of catastrophe with the crew we have here."
They expected to serve between 8,000 and 10,000 wings this Sunday.
"They can call in, they can walk in, we're prepared," Siracusa said. "We have enough wings, boneless wings, fries, we cut up 48 boxes of fries this morning so we're ready, especially with the recession we're ready for this busy day!"
Local pizza chain Pizza Plus was ready for the rush as well. They were prepped for more than a thousand large pizzas between their four stores.
"It's our busiest day of the year and we've been prepping pretty much all week," Pizza Plua employee Daniel Lark said. "We came in at 7:00 to start rolling all the dough for all four stores."
And they're fully staffed.
"Everyone works today," Lark said. "It's the one day a year where everyone has to work. Unless your team is playing; then you have the day off."
Local sports bars were prepping for a big day as well.
"Super Bowl Sunday is always a great day for us," Bully's Bar and Grill Marketing Director Mike Thomas said. "We have a lot of football fans that come in to enjoy a great game. It's not as good as we hoped without the 49ers being in it but it's still a good matchup, everyone's excited."
