RENO, Nev.– The ninth annual Reno River Festival is nearly upon us, set for Friday, June 15 through Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Wingfield Park. Drawing crowds from around the world to downtown Reno’s Truckee River Whitewater Park, the Reno River Festival again hosts three days of paddling, music, food and free entertainment in the heart of downtown Reno.
As in past years, attendees are encouraged to park in downtown parking garages, at the McKinley Arts Center on Vine Street, on streets surrounding Wingfield Park or avoid parking issues altogether by riding bicycles, walking or utilizing public transportation. To allow for set up, tear down and production of the event, the following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic:
Thursday, June 14 at 9 a.m. through Sunday, June 17 at 9p.m.:
Arlington Avenue from First to Court StreetsEastbound First Street from Ralston Street to Arlington Ave Saturday, June 16, 10 – 5 p.m. only:
First Street from Arlington Avenue to Ralston Street (10am – 5pm) Saturday, June 16, 12 – 5 p.m. only:
Riverside Drive from First to Booth Streets Booth Street from Riverside Drive to Idlewild Drive (Bridge only)Westbound Lane of Idlewild Drive from Booth Street Bridge to the pedestrian walkway (approx. 100 feet)Latimore and Mastroianni Drives to Cowan Drive (inside Idlewild Park only)
Alternate routes to reach the north and south sides of Wingfield Park include Sierra Street and Keystone Avenue via California Avenue and Second Street.
