WELLS, Nev. (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol continues to investigate a fatal crash in northeast Nevada over the weekend that
claimed the life of a tow truck operator from Wells and a couple from Washington state.
Sgt. Troy Lindley says 20-year-old Jesse John Pengelly was in the process of hooking up a car for a tow on the shoulder of U.S., Highway 93 about 30 miles south of Wells when a semi-trailer truck
plowed into them about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday.
The truck first hit the Buick Skylark, killing the couple from Spokane inside - 64-year-old Michael Eugene Bogue and 54-year-old Marilyn Louise Bogue.
Lindley says the car was propelled over the top of the tow truck, striking Pengelly. He was transported to University of Utah hospital, where he died from his injuries.
