Sparks Police responded to a call of Domestic Battery in the 2500 Block of D St on Sunday. When they arrived they found 2 people inside an apartment with stab wounds.
During the investigation, officers learned that an argument had occurred between the occupants of the apartment. Officers determined the suspect to be Nickolas John Lewis. The victim had stab wounds and a possible human bite mark on her face. The suspect also had stab wounds, which the officers determined were inflicted by the female in self-defense.
Medics were called to the scene, and both the suspect and victim were taken to Renown Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Lewis was later arrested and charged with domestic battery causing substantial bodily harm with use of a deadly weapon, being a convicted person failing to register an address, and obstructing an officer. He may also face charges in California as he has an extraditable warrant there. The warrant appears to be related to a parole violation on a previous charge of domestic violence
