One man is in custody after allegedly pulling a knife on his girlfriend during an argument and threatening to harm children in Sparks early Saturday evening.
According to the Sparks Police Department, 57-year-old Danny Johnson was arguing with his girlfriend at a home in the 1500 block of Gault Way around 6:00 p.m. when he grabbed her by the shoulders and eventually pulled out a butcher's knife. Johnson also broke the house phone and threatened to hurt the children present if they tried to call the police.
The victims were able to escape after Johnson fell down some steps and dropped the knife. The victim grabbed the knife and took the two children to a neighbor's house to call police. Johnson grabbed another knife and slashed the victim's tires as well as another car's.
Johnson was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery, Coercion with Threats of Violence, Child Endangerment and Destruction of Property.
