SPARKS, Nev. -- A second attempted robbery along El Rancho Drive in Sparks has police pushing hard to make arrests.
The most recent incident happened around 3am Saturday morning. Police were called to the area of El Rancho and Capurro Way.
The victim was a woman who had been walking to her car at the time. She tells officers that as she got close to her car, a man - whom she didn't know - came up and hit her, knocking her to the ground. That is when she was punched and kicked a number of times.
She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
She described the suspect as a white male with a thin build. He was wearing baggy, over-sized clothing described as a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts.
She last saw him running eastbound on Capurro. The victim thinks there might have been a second person there but does not have a description of that person.
The one suspect's description is similar to the description of a suspect in another robbery which occurred several hours earlier in the same general area.
The first suspect in that robbery was described as an "Hispanic male in his 20's, approximately 5-8 to 5-10 with a muscular build and a goatee." He was wearing blue pants and a gray shirt. The second man was described as a "Caucasian male in his 20's, approximately 6-0 tall with a 'skinny' build." He was also had a gray shirt and was wearing a gray baseball cap.
Sparks Police officials say they do not know if the two incidents are related but both are still under investigation.
