Sparks P.D. detectives have identified the suspect from the March 12th Attempted Kidnapping as Armando Torres-Cleto. AKA: Torres, Manuel / Torres-Bernabe, Eduardo / Cleto, Armando.

An arrest warrant for Torres-Cleto has been obtained for Attempted Kidnapping with the Use of a Deadly Weapon and Open and Gross Lewdness.

The white van associated to Torre-Cleto has been positively identified and located.

Police say the woman told them around 9:30PM, she was in a convenience store in the 2100 block of Victorian Avenue when she noticed a white van parked out front. She saw an Hispanic man in the van, honking the horn as if he were trying to get someone's attention. The man flashed the headlights on the van as the woman walked out of the store. She approached the van and as she did so, the suspect changed seats and opened the passenger side door.

The woman says he pointed a handgun at her and exposed his genitals, then put the gun down and grabbed her by the arm, trying to pull her into the van. She broke loose, but has a minor arm injury as a result.

Police say a male friend of the victim was nearby and heard the commotion. He confronted the suspect, who showed the handgun again, then drove away.

The vehicle is described as a white full-size panel-style van with no side windows, California license plates and possibly a black metal cage in the interior.

The driver is described as an Hispanic male, 30-40 years of age with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a dark colored hoodie and jeans.
