SPARKS, Nev. – Memorial bricks on display in Sparks are moving.
People were invited to purchase the bricks in 1999 in honor of loved ones and important events. The bricks were engraved tributes to serve as commemorative plaques for years to come. They were places in Victorian Square in a highly visible area.
Because of heavy foot traffic in the area and the sometimes extreme weather in our region the bricks didn’t hold us as was anticipated. There have also been improvements to Victorian Square that make that location less than ideal for the bricks.
Now the tributes will be moved to the bandstand area located at Victorian Plaza Circle and Victorian Avenue. The original messages from the bricks will be engraved onto panels.
The city is trying to contact the people who purchased these tributes, but not all of the contact information is correct. You can contact the city of Sparks with more questions or to provide information. Call 775-353-7857 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The project should be complete in the fall.
