SPARKS, Nev. -- The Sparks City Council unanimously adopted a resolution to support the construction of Interstate 11, a road that would go from Mexico to Canada.
The Council is encouraging key decision makers to adopt a route that allows I-11 to travel through the Reno-Sparks region.
Phase One of I-11 is currently being studied and will provide connectivity between Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV.
Numerous options for phase two are under review and will consist of further connectivity north of Las Vegas.
The ultimate plan for I-11 is to provide a link between Candida and Mexico through the western United States.
