SPARKS, NV - The city of Sparks could be raising the property tax rate in 2015. The recommendation is one of several initiatives for the fiscal year 2015 budget.
The city’s current property tax rate is $3.61 per $100 of assessed value. The proposed increase would raise that rate by 4.37 cents or $3.66 per $100 of assessed value. This increase could generate about $250,000 for the fiscal year 2015.
The tax increase would impact only 3.7 percent of all properties in Sparks.
Final approval is expected on May 20th during a special Sparks City Council Meeting.
