Police Standoff Ends in Sparks, Suspect Taken into Custody

SPARKS, NV - An early morning police standoff in Sparks is now over.

Sparks Police say they got a 911 call from a woman screaming around 3 a.m.

Police traced the call to a home at the corner of H Street and Rock Blvd in Sparks.

When police arrived on scene, they heard a violent struggle inside and saw a woman run out with a shotgun. She told police the man, 26-year-old Zachary McGee, had hit her and was also armed with a gun threatening to kill himself.

The bomb squad was called in and they sent in a robot to find McGee who wasn't responding to police.

Once the robot found the suspect, SWAT forced their way into the home and Mcgee was taken into custody around 6:30 a.m.
