RENO, NV - For Cooper Fuchs, there's nothing like hitting the slopes for the first time of the season.
"Like when you bomb down the hill, the energy, exhilaration level gets higher and higher. It's so fun man," says Fuchs.
Cooper made the trip from Thousand Oaks, Calif. to Mt. Rose with his family and friends for the holiday break.
"A friend of ours has a condo, and he offered it to us and we took him up on it," says Kari Latta.
They aren't the only ones who will invade Mt. Rose over the next couple weeks. This is one of the busiest times of the year for the ski resort.
"Right during christmas, we do bring extra staff on. we saw a bit of it today. We had a big turnout this weekend and next weekend, we expect to see a bit more people," says Mt. Rose PR/Web Manager Kayla Anderson.
If you're coming to Mt. Rose anytime during the holidays, you can check out their IPhone app which has some new features, including a 3am grooming report.
Unlike last year, there hasn't been a lot of natural snow fall so far this winter, but Mt. Rose says they still expect the conditions on the slopes to be solid even if there isn't a white Christmas.
"Slowly, as temperatures have been able to stay cool, we've been able to make snow and slowly open more terrain," says Anderson.
And that's good news for skiers like the Fuchs.
