RENO, NV - It might be a sign of economic recovery -- a job fair in Reno without a massive crowd and long line. Savory Investments is looking to hire seventy to work at it's new Ling and Louie's restaurant. The franchisee also brought Famous Dave's to Reno last year. Ling and Louie's, which will open in the spring, is described as Asian meets American food.
A fair to staff it drew a steady flow of people looking for work, but nowhere near the crowds of other recent fairs.
"I think the economy us starting to turn people are energetic," Ling and Louie's General Manager Jay Hackstaff said.
Still, some said it remains a tight job-market.
"I was shocked I thought it was going to be a lot easier," one job-seeker said.
Nationwide, unemployment rate has dropped to 8.5 percent. In the Reno-Sparks area it fell to 11.6 percent.
