SPARKS, NV - Sparks police were called to The Alley Bar on Victorian Avenue around 10:00 p.m. Saturday after reports of gunshots fired.

Police say there was an argument after inappropriate conduct was made toward a female friend of the victim. After the victim asked the person to control his behavior, he was reportedly cornered by several people.

Sparks police say the victim tried to avoid a confrontation by leaving the bar, but the subjects followed him out.

Police say in an attempt to deter the subjects, the victim pulled out his handgun. After the group continued to advance, the victim responded by firing a gunshot into the air.

The group continued to approach the victim after the shot was fired. The victim then went inside the building and went behind the bar. The group followed him and began to attack him, according to police.

Police say the victim fired a gunshot as he was being attacked on the floor of the bar.

Sparks officials say the victim used the gun in self-defense. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Four people were arrested on one count each of simple battery and one count of provoking an assault. They are Stanley Griffin, Michael Griffin, Eric Cooper and Cody York.
