RENO, Nev. -- The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into a shooting that involved a Reno Police Department officer.
It happened just before 4pm on Saturday, July 21st at Lake and Mill Streets in Reno. Police officers were called to the Lakemill Lodge for reports of a fight involving a baseball bat.
Information provided from the Sheriff's Office indicates that during the process of making contact with the people involved, a shooting occurred.
One person - who is not an officer - was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. No one was evacuated from the hotel, and no one else was hurt.
The officer involved has been placed on routine administrative leave.
