TRUCKEE, CA - Both eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 eastbound were opened at Donner around 11pm Thursday night. More than 12 hours after a big rig crash there.
The crash happened about 10:30AM at the Donner eastbound onramp. Only the one truck with two trailers was involved, and nobody was seriously hurt. But gas spilled onto the road, and there was nitric acid inside the truck, so hazardous materials crews wanted to make sure there were no safety issues before the truck was uprighted and moved.
The CHP is still investigating how the crash happened.
