RENO, NV - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office has arrested the suspect in a recent metal theft from a business in Verdi on October 1st.
Deputies arrested 56-year-old Timothy Alsum, of Verdi. Deputies believe he has sold scrap medal at least three different times, stolen from the same business, to a recycler in Sparks.
The sum total of the theft from the past year is believed to be $30,000.
Alsum was arrested and charged with felony possession of stolen property, burglary, and obtaining money under false pretenses. Deputies believe more charges are to follow.
The Sheriff's Office Detectives Division is continuing this investigation and would encourage anyone with information on this suspect to call 328-3320 or remain anonymous by calling Secret Witness at 322-4900.
Alsum's bail has been set at $20,000
