CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Reno attorney Lidia Stiglich has been appointed to the Washoe District Court bench.
Gov. Brian Sandoval announced the appointment Wednesday. Stiglich succeeds District Judge Steven Kosach, who retired in September after a 22-year judicial career. Stiglich will serve the remaining two years of the judicial term and must run for election in 2014 to retain the seat.
Stiglich holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from University of California, Berkeley and a law degree from Hastings College of Law.
She was a trial attorney at the San Francisco Public Defender's Office from 1997 until 2002, when she came to Nevada. She is a managing partner of the Stiglich & Hinckley law firm in Reno.
Stiglich also has taught evidence and criminal law classes at several law schools.
