RENO, NV - The SPCA of Northern Nevada is helping animal owners who have lost a pet.
The SPCA is offering free monthly pet loss grief classes designed to help pet owners cope and heal with the passing of their animal either recently or in the past, according to an official with the SPCA of Northern Nevada.
The official says the classes will be ongoing throughout 2014 and will happen on the fourth Thursday of each month. Classes will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the SPCA's Stanley James Walker Pet Care and Adoption Center.
Topics included in the classes are understanding grief, stages and myths of grief, normal reactions to grief, consequences of denial of grief, grief for children and seniors, and more, according to the official.
