Reward Offered After UNR Copper Theft

RENO, NV - Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of whomever stole spools of copper wire from the University of Nevada campus.

Police say Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 6:39PM, the construction area in the married student’s housing, near Evans Road and Enterprise Road, was burglarized, resulting in a loss of more than $22,000. Taken were two spools of copper wire. One of the spools of 4/0 gauge copper wire weighed abouty 3,000 pounds and was valued at approximately $14,388. The second spool of 1/0 gauge copper wire weighed 1,200 pounds and was valued at approximately $7,624.

The UNR Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the thief or theives.
