If you are a parent, experts say making sure your kids stick to their routine is one of the best things you can do to make them feel safe as they head back to school this week.
Kenneth Trump is the president of the National School Safety and Security Services. He says parents should feel confident about sending their kids off to the classroom today.
"Monday will be the safest day you could ever be in a school in this country because there's going to be a heightened awareness and heightened security measures."
Experts say these next few days is not the time to develop or bring up you family's disaster preparedness plan. Instead, parents should focus on reassuring their kids they are safe.
