RENO, NV - Reno police say a report of a shooting Monday afternoon appears to have been a prank.

The initial radio report indicated a woman had called police saying someone had been shot. Police closed Locust Street to traffic between Capitol Hill and Broadway.

Now they are telling KOLO 8 News Now someone may have been trying to get someone in trouble, and there is no evidence that anyone was shot.

There is no word yet whether anyone will be charged, though three people have been detained for questioning. Police have cleared the scene, but the investigation continues.
