RENO, NV - Reno police have arrested a Reno man they say sexually assaulted women, using Craigslist to find them.

David Schmitt, 31, is accused of using the personal adds on Craigslist to act as a female looking for female companionship.

Police say after a victim would make contact with Schmitt and share personal information and photographs with him, Schmitt would set up a meeting place and use the victim's personal information and photographs to blackmail, extort, and coerce the victim into having sex with him.

If the victims refused, resisted or did not cooperate, police say Schmitt would physically force himself on them and sexually assault them.

The police investigation indicates Schmitt also may have used Facebook and other Internet sites to gain personal information about his victims' life, work, and friends to increase his knowledge about them.

They say they believe there could be several victims in this case, and you're urged to call Reno police if you have any information.
