Reno Lawyers Offer Free Legal Advice for Food Donations

Reno, Nev. - If you have legal questions and you need answers, one local group of lawyers says they'll do it for free. It's all part of their effort to give back to the community and help a local food pantry.

It's happening Friday, January 27th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their offices on the 10th floor of the Reno City Hall Building.

To get the free legal advice, they're asking that you bring at least three cans of food to donate to Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada's food bank.

There will be three attorneys dispensing legal advice on Friday: Herbert Santos, Sr., and his sons, Cory and Joel Santos.

They can answer legal questions related to worker's compensation claims, personal injury, immigration, family and criminal law, wills, probate, and powers of attorney.

They cannot answer questions about taxes.

The Santos' say they're doing it to give back to the community, and help stock our local food pantry, that's so desperately in need of donations.

"With these tough economic times right now, people need to be able to go see an attorney, and
you know, feel that they can come in, talk about their case for a little bit," said Attorney Joel Santos.

"They're offering free legal services, and they're going to be collecting food for those people we're servicing down at St. Vincent's food pantry, so we're really excited for the opportunity," said Laurie Gorris with Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada.

Normally a consultation with these lawyers would cost $100.
