RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno-area voters will have a chance to get to and from the polls free on Election Day.
The Regional Transportation Commission is offering the public free rides on its public bus transportation systems on Tuesday.
RTC officials say their "Try Transit Free Day" is designed not only to provide voters with another option to get to polls, but to introduce public transportation to the public.
Washoe County Registrar of Voters Dan Burke praises the offer, saying it'll help ensure that every voter can get to the polls on Tuesday.
The free rides also are being offered Tuesday on RTC Intercity buses that connect Reno and Carson City.
