Reno Police Officer Talks Man Out of Committing Suicide

RENO, NV - A Reno police officer is being hailed a hero, after talking a suicidal man down from a downtown casino Sunday night.

Reno police were called out to the Eldorado Casino around 10:30 pm because a man was sitting on a ledge, threatening to jump from the tenth floor.

Officer Allison Jenkins spent about an hour taking with the man, and was able to convince him not to jump.

The 26-year-old man, agreed to step back over the railing and get medical help.

Now, he'll undergo a mental evaluation.
