RENO, Nev. (AP) - The city of Reno has announced plans for a parade later this month to honor Olympic skiing champion David Wise.

The 23-year-old graduate of Wooster High School became the first person from Reno to win a gold medal when he claimed the top prize in the halfpipe, freestyle skiing competition at the Sochi Winter Games in February.

The city has scheduled the David Wise Parade of Champions for Saturday, April 26. It will begin downtown at the Reno arch at 5 p.m. and end roughly a half-hour later at Aces Ballpark.

City officials say other Olympic medal winners from the area may join in the parade.

Wise and is among those who will be signing autographs prior to the Reno Aces baseball game that starts at 6:35 p.m.
