RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Reno liquor and convenience store owner has been convicted on 16 counts involving the sale of synthetic drugs known as "spice."

Nevada U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden says a federal jury convicted 33-year-old Iqbal Singh-Sidhu on Thursday.

Authorities say the spice he sold was labeled as "Diablo," ''Hayze," ''White Rhino" and "Smokin Dragon." The synthetic drugs have hallucinogenic effects on the central nervous system.

Singh-Sidhu was arrested in March 2012 after officers searched his home and business, Grab n Go Food n Liquors, on West Fourth Street.

Prosecutors charged that he maintained the business as an outlet to distribute the drugs.

Singh-Sidhu faces up to 20 years in prison on each count and millions of dollars in fines.

He will be sentenced June 9 by U.S. District Judge Robert Jones.
