RENO, Nev. -- Reno Bighorns' owner officially named Jason Glover head coach of the team Sunday.

Glover acted as interim head coach for the final dozen games of last season and was associate head coach for a number of games during the 2010-2011 season.

In a press release, owner Herb Santos, Jr. said, "Jason puts his heart and soul into developing basketball players. When you take into account his work ethic and knowledge of the game, he will be a superb head coach."

In the same press release, Glover thanked the organization and added, "I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead. I am extremely humbled and excited to be able to stay home in Reno and work for a first class organization like the Bighorns. I plan to help the organization grow not only on the court but off the court as well. We would like to build a basketball team that Northern Nevada can not only rally around, but be proud of."

In addition to a long coaching background including past experience with the Wolf Pack, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and current off-season work with WNBA's Tulsa Shock, Glover is Executive Director of the Nevada Basketball Academy, a non-profit organization which, according to their website, is "dedicated to providing the youth of Nevada with the best basketball experience available in a safe, friendly and educational environment."

The Reno Bighorns is an NBA Development League -- or "D-League" -- team. The Bighorns are connected with the Grizzlies, Kings, and Jazz.

Glover's WNBA team, Shock, play the Washington Mystics today (Sunday, June 30th) at 1pm Pacific time.
