RENO, Nev. – The Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross (NNARC) is urging families impacted by the Washoe Drive Fire and have lost their homes to report to the evacuation center and meet with a client caseworker.
They will provide referrals for lodging that is being provided by local hotels. A referral will be required.
The NNARC suggests evacuees self-store any personal items to ensure their safety. The evacuation center does not have secure storage available. Evacuees are responsible for their belongings.
The evacuation center is located at the Damonte Ranch High School at 10500 Rio Wrangler Parkway, Reno, Nev. Look for Red Cross signage. There are currently approximately 30 people at the center.
At this time, the Red Cross is not accepting in-kind donations of water or materials (blankets, clothing, etc.).
To help those affected by this and other disasters in the region, contributions can be made to the Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross at 1190 Corporate Boulevard, Reno , Nevada, 89502 or by calling (775) 856-1000. Secure online donations may also be made at nevada.redcross.org.
