RENO, NV - November 21, 2013, is Child and Teen Grief Awareness Day. It's a day for those to remember the children and teenagers who have experienced the death of a loved one.

Child and Teen Grief Awareness Day is observed on the Thursday before Thanksgiving each year, according to an official with The Solace Tree. Officials say this day is a reminder to families who feel alone during this time that they are not forgotten.

To participate in Child and Teen Grief Awareness Day, people can wear blue and let people know why they're wearing blue, according to an official with The Solace Tree.

During this day, the Washoe County School District will work in partnership with Solace Tree to provide students with the support they need.

The Solace Tree will also host the "Art for Solace" fundraiser at the Reno Little Theatre, located at 147 E. Pueblo Street, according to an official with The Solace Tree.

Officials say the "Art of Solace" fundraiser will include a live auction of art created by Solace Tree children and teens. There will also be a silent auction, appetizers, a no-host bar and live music, according to event officials.

Officials say tickets to the "Art of Solace" fundraiser are $30 a person. Tickets can be purchased online at solacetree.eventbrite.com or by calling the Solace House at 775-324-7723.
