RENO, Nev. -- Reno Police Department (RPD) investigators arrested a man for the murder of an elderly victim who was beaten and abandoned in a hotel room earlier in June.

It happened on June 7th at the Cal-Neva hotel in Downtown Reno. Police say emergency crews took 65-year-old Larry King of Reno to the hospital where he spent several days in intensive care but died of his injuries on June 13th.

RPD investigators pieced together enough information over the following few weeks to make an arrest. They say 54-year-old Daniel Patrick Archuleta had been with King the night before he was found.

Investigators served an arrest warrant on Archuleta Friday afternoon, June 28th. He is facing murder charges and is not available for bail.
