Reno Police Investigating Stabbing and Kidnapping

RENO, Nev. - Reno police are investigating a stabbing that happened early Friday morning.

Shortly after midnight, police responded to the area of Wells Avenue and Roberts Street on a report of a fight with someone yelling for help. When police arrived, they found evidence of a violent struggle, but found no people or a victim in the area.

A second call came into police around 3:10 a.m. for a subject down and asking for help in the 500 block of Cheney Street in Reno.

Police arrived there to find a 53-year-old Reno man in the street with several lacerations and stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say he was attacked at the Wells Avenue crime scene and pulled into a car, then dropped off in the Cheney area. Investigators aren't releasing information about a motive or description of attackers.
