LAS VEGAS (AP) - The makeup of the 2013 Nevada Legislature begins to take shape as primary election voters determine which candidates advance to November and ultimately which party will hold
sway in setting the agenda during next year's legislative session.
In the Nevada Senate there are six Democratic and three Republican primaries Tuesday for the dozen seats that will be decided in the general election Nov. 6. Nine Senate seats aren't up this year. Democrats hold a slim 11-10 majority in the upper chamber and the GOP is focusing on a few key races to try to tip control to their favor.
In the Assembly, 15 Democratic and 13 Republican primary races
are being decided to determine the final list of general election contenders.
